Blackout

  • root
Reading Time: 1 minute

And it came again that night

The feeling had been etched in my memory

I could feel it choking me

Slowly

Slowly

Swallowing

Burning my lungs into ash

My frozen heart piercing my insides

I was falling

Down

Down

Broken

Fragmented into the smallest pieces

Into infinite little heartbeats

Enough to fit a thousand lifetimes

Scattered

Scattered

Pieces

Shattered across this quicksand

Burying the light deeper and deeper

Lost my breath in a second

Choking

Choking

Demons

Underwater, and I was screaming

Feeling my life slip away

But holding on made us weaker

Darkness

Darkness

Blackout

Hearing the thunder in my ears

Feeling the wind hit my skin

I could feel it all tearing from within

Fallen

Fallen

Down

Black eyes, char-coaled heart

Frozen soul, burning away

We are our demons

Glory

Glory

Is ours
